The beguiling beauty of the historical bracelets

The birth of human jewelry goes back in time to some 20,000 years ago. Such jewelry in ivory, shells and bones were generally found in graves. Historical bracelets made their appearance in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia where these bracelets known as scarabs were found in mummified pharaohs. Used in Egypt to signify regeneration and rebirth these antique bracelets were tied on babies in Latin America evidently to ward off the evil eye. In Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, these bracelets, known as bangles, in glass or gold, are worn by women around their wrists. Bangles could signify festivals or marital status. Historical bracelets in bright colored Murano beads have bewitched the wearer since the 13th century.

Today you can find online silver bracelets with scarabs, bracelets with the famous Faberge pastel egg and copies of antique bracelets with Viking Runes in sterling silver from the Viking era.
